Proposed McPherson Interchange Layout
(K-61 to K-153)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF LAYOUT
-
From Groveland, proposed K-61 follows the existing alignment to approximately ¾
miles south of Eisenhower Road.
-
At this point, the proposed roadway turns to the north, and intersects
Eisenhower Road approximately ½ mile west of existing K-61 Highway.
-
Just north of Eisenhower Road, the route curves to the right until headed
approximately due east.
-
The proposed route continues east and passes over K-153 Highway and the Union
Pacific Railroad approximately ¼ mile south of Frontier Road.
-
From this point, the roadway curves slightly back to the northeast and connects
with the existing 4-lane south of McPherson.
|
ACCESS TO K-61
Access would be gained to the highway in the vicinity of the interchange at the
following locations:
-
An at-grade intersection located at Eisenhower Road will provide access for
local traffic.
-
Northbound exit and southbound entry ramps will connect to K-153.
CROSS TRAFFIC
Traffic will be able to cross K-61 via the at-grade intersection at Eisenhower
Road. Traffic on 12th Avenue will not have direct access to K-61 nor will they
be able to cross K-61.
FUTURE GROWTH
To accommodate future growth and development in the vicinity of Eisenhower
Road, sufficient right-of-way will be acquired as a part of this project so
that a diamond interchange can be constructed at Eisenhower Road when warranted
by increased traffic movements at this intersection.
